A reminder for us to be grateful in a good way. Sometimes, happiness not only comes for us, nevertheless for the others — also there’s a moment we will have to be happy for their happiness.

Hi folks, it’s me again coming back with my copy. Anyway, I just finished reading my book, enjoying myself by watching some random videos on Youtube also finished eating my instant spicy fried noodle while resting myself in a living room as watching TV. it’s already 2023, the first day for us to do some resolutions we’ve listed down and some of which might come from the old or the new one.

How have you been guys? How’s your day today? I’ve been great and hopefully everything goes well including you. Honestly there is a reason behind me writing this, it’s because I just find out myself a new insight which I think better for me to share and write it here. The reason is I get a good and memorable lesson from a program TV I watched yesterday night, the program named ‘Uang Kaget’ and ‘Bedah Rumah’ (rough translation: ‘Unexpected Money’ and ‘Renovating House’) which both are known so well in Indonesia. Moreover, it recently got nominated and awarded as the winner of the best TV program on national TV. These programs belong to certain marginalized people who need help for developing their economy based on selection with several terms and criteria.

Uang Kaget is a program where you are set up by being given 15 millions Rupiah ($ 961 USD) to buy your needs in 30 minute. In a limit time, you have to be able to spend all the money for buying anything which can help you to increase your economy. For instance, you can buy a secondhand motorcycle for helping you to working, buy food cart, buy some groceries, buy jewelry as your savings, even buy goat as your livestock for your future investment and so on. While in other hand, Bedah Rumah is a program where you are offered to get a help to renovate and re-build your broken house which is intended for way to increase your economic status in society. These programs luckily get good response and recognition from people outside because through this program directly can help poor people to fix their economy which commonly is the most important problem that exist in this society.

These programs have been phenomenal for past few years, and cannot be denied it really helpful for people; a lot of people have been helped through it, and I have to admit that. When these programs aired on TV at least there are speculations and opinions appeared. it comes from many sides such as pro-side, contra-side, and side that talking about what the impact after the end of these programs is for the people, especially as one who receive the help. I understand it, every action must have impact behind it either it’s positive or negative as long as it is beneficial and necessary enough for people, in my opinion, it doesn’t matter.

Indeed I really learn a lot from these programs which is in fact it open my mind that there’s a lot people outside still struggling and trying to fight for their living, literally sacrifice themselves for risk in order to earn more money to fulfil their needs wishing someday they will get a new life better while I’m here living easily without worrying about how will I survive tomorrow. I don’t mean being grateful for people’s suffering but I just take it as a self-reflection as well as reminder for me to be wiser, empathetic, sensitive, and not easily to judge other people’s life and seeing things only in the same shoes as me.

Through these programs help me to encourage my thought to open widely and teaching me sometimes any help not only comes from both thing we expect but also from thing we never expect. Besides that, there’s valuable lesson I got from my aunt whom literally spending her time to watch these program entire day as long as she can. At that time, I wondered and questioned her why she did like watching this program and she said,

“Because, it’s truly a pleasant for me to see how other people behaving well to one another, how they smile widely while there’s a sparkle from their eyes when getting the help, they become more grateful, and realizing that everything only comes from Allah. The happiness is also meaningful and precious when you can see other people feel it as the same way you do. it’s my pleasure to see people’s happiness even if I know, I cannot afford it myself to help them directly. But I always taking a pray for their happiness. May Allah always bless us with his mercy and giving us joy and laughter.”

I could feel the sparkling over her eyes as if attempting to say that there will always be a hope as long as we face it with all heart and soul and never stop to be tawakal and ikhtiar. We don’t need to be worry about life, as long as we simply put it all in Him. Trying to recall all the good times I have been through, and couldn’t help think about it all. One thing I know is just being more grateful at what I have now.

in short, find yourself to be better in person, considering everything you do and the last but not least, make sure yourself to always take a care of yourself and people around you.
